Introducing the Husky Heroes Winter Challenge: Walk with Purpose January 2026! πŸ•β€πŸ¦Ί

As the winter months settle in and the days grow shorter, we know many of you are looking for motivation to stay active and make a difference. With New Year’s resolutions around the corner, what better way to kickstart 2026 than with a fitness goal that truly matters? That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our brand-new Husky Heroes Winter Challenge – a sponsored walking event that combines your January fitness resolutions with supporting the animals who call Eagle Heights home.

What is the Husky Heroes Winter Challenge?

Throughout January 2026, participants will take on a personal walking challenge whilst raising vital funds for our wildlife sanctuary. Perfect timing for those New Year fitness goals! Whether you’re a seasoned walker or just starting your resolution journey, there’s a challenge level perfect for you:

  • Beginner Challenge: 30 miles (just 1 mile per day)
  • Intermediate Challenge: 60 miles (2 miles daily)
  • Advanced Challenge: 100 miles (3+ miles daily)

The beauty of this challenge? You can walk anywhere – around your neighbourhood, local parks, or even pop down to visit us at Eagle Heights for some husky-inspired motivation!

Why January? Why Huskies?

January is the perfect month for fresh starts and meaningful resolutions. While many fitness goals fade by February, the Husky Heroes Challenge gives your New Year commitment real purpose and accountability. Plus, January is traditionally our quietest month, when visitor numbers drop and the financial pressure on our sanctuary increases. Yet our 30+ rescued huskies, along with our birds of prey, meerkats, and other residents, still need daily care, feeding, and veterinary attention.

Our incredible husky pack – all rescues who’ve found their forever home with us – embody the spirit of endurance and determination that this challenge celebrates. They’re the perfect inspiration for your winter walking goals and New Year fitness resolutions!
