As one of the UK’s largest Bird of Prey centres, we’re committed to conservation both at home and abroad. Our approach combines hands-on wildlife care with educational outreach and habitat protection.
At Eagle Heights, we believe in letting nature lead the way. Rather than maintaining manicured gardens, we create thriving ecosystems that support both our resident animals and local wildlife. Our partnership with The Woodland Trust has enabled us to plant 100 native trees, while our chemical-free environment and wildflower meadows provide essential habitats for pollinators and small mammals.
Throughout our grounds, you’ll discover thoughtfully preserved wild areas where nature flourishes undisturbed. From long grass areas where shrews and voles attract wild barn owls and kestrels, to native hedgerows perfect for nesting songbirds, every ‘untidy’ corner serves a purpose. Our insect hotels and bird feeding stations, crafted from reclaimed materials, complete this living ecosystem. We invite you to pause during your visit and observe the wealth of species that make Eagle Heights their home.
Since launching our recycling initiative in 2002, Eagle Heights has made sustainability a cornerstone of our daily operations. As a proud Silver member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, we’re constantly working to reduce our environmental impact and inspire others to do the same.
Our comprehensive recycling programme touches every aspect of our operations, from office supplies like paper and printer cartridges to visitor-generated waste such as glass and cans. We’ve placed recycling points throughout the sanctuary, making it easy for both staff and visitors to participate in our environmental efforts.
Sustainability extends beyond recycling at Eagle Heights. When maintaining or building new enclosures, we prioritise reclaimed materials and fallen wood, giving new life to resources that might otherwise go to waste. This approach not only reduces our environmental impact but also creates unique, natural-looking habitats for our animals.
By choosing Eagle Heights for your visit, you’re supporting a wildlife sanctuary that takes its environmental responsibilities seriously. Every item recycled and every material reused brings us closer to our goal of achieving Gold status in the Green Tourism scheme.
Support wildlife conservation through our Gift Shop offerings and unforgettable experiences. From Eagle Experiences and Meerkat Encounters to animal sponsorships and eco-friendly products, every purchase directly supports our wildlife care and habitat preservation. Together, we’re creating positive change for nature.
Every visit to Eagle Heights supports our conservation efforts. Thank you for helping us protect wildlife for future generations.
